Missing BUET student found dead in Shitalakkhya river

On Monday, the body of a Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student was recovered from the Shitalakshya River, three days after he went missing.

The deceased was identified as Fardin Noor Parash, 24, 3rd-year student of the civil engineering department of BUET, son of Kazi Nuruddin Rana of Qutubpur area of Narayanganj's Fatullah, said Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj Sadar Naval Police.

Parash was missing since Friday night, relatives said. On November 4, he left home and did not return.

Later, his father filed a general diary at Rampura Police station.

Monday afternoon, at Siddhirganj the dead body was seen floating on the river just behind a cotton mill.

On Monday evening, Parash's family members came to Narayanganj and identified his body.
