The High Court (HC) has issued an injunction on the construction of Secondary Transfer Stations (STS) by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in Youth Tower Goli area under East Shewrapa in the capital.
A High Court division bench comprising of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Md Shohrowardi on Monday passed the order and issued a rule in this regard.
The court came up with the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed in this regard.
The court asked officials concerned including LGRD Secretary, DNCC Mayor and Chief Executive Officer to respond to the rule within four weeks.
A newspaper report on the objections of the locals over construction of STS in the area was published on August 2.
Ten inhabitants of the area including Supreme Court lawyer and valiant Freedom Fighter Md Jashim Uddin filed the writ after that.
