Rail operations from Dhaka to other destinations across the country, except Narayanganj, have been suspended after some students blocked the rail line at Airport Station in the capital.
Khairul Kabir, divisional transport officer (Dhaka) of Bangladesh Railway, confirmed the news.
He said some students, who are supposed to sit for Rajshahi University admission test, halted the operation of Nilsagar Express at Dhaka's Airport Station around 9am on Wednesday after not getting tickets.
However, trains are returning to Dhaka.
Mazharul Haque, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station said outbound train communication from Dhaka was suspended due to the blockade by the students.
Police were on the way till filing the report at 11:30am.
