Biswajit murder case: Another fugitive convict held in N’ganj

A fugitive criminal who had been on the run since his conviction in the murder of Biswajit Das in 2013 has been arrested by members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

During a drive by Rab-2, Md Yunus Ali, 36, the son of Khondokar Yakub Ali of Magura, was arrested, according to Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Fazlul Haque, Senior Additional Director (Media) of RAB-2.

In connection with the murder case, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

According to him, the convict confessed during primary interrogation, and legal action is being taken against him.

During the BNP-led alliance's nationwide road blockade program on December 9, 2012, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) supporters murdered tailoring shop employee Biswajit by chopping him to death near Bahadur Shah Park in Old Dhaka.
