The fire that quickly tore through an electronics warehouse in the capital's Paltan area on Wednesday evening was brought under control after nearly two hours.
No casualties were reported till the filling of this report at 9:30pm.
Earlier, the blaze began at the tin-shed warehouse of Hamim Electronics, housed in a two-storey building, near Hotel 71 in Bijoynagar around 6:30pm.
Md Shahjahan Shikdar, deputy assistant director (media cell) of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said 13 firefighting units from Siddik Bazar Fire Service and Civil Defence responded to the blaze.
The firefighters could tame the flames at 8:27pm, he added.
The reasons for the fire mishap and the extent of damage could not be confirmed immediately, Shahjahan said.
