RAB arrested fugitive war criminal Iradat Molla

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Iradat Molla, the accused under the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Tribunal for crimes against humanity in 1971 after being hidden for several years.

A RAB-3 team arrested him from an area of ​​Kotwali police station in Jessore district on Thursday afternoon.

This was informed in a press release sent to the media by Staff Officer (Media) Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Farzana Haque on behalf of the director of RAB-3 on Friday.

According to the press release, the arrested accused has been charged of various war crimes like murder, genocide, rape, arson, looting, kidnapping during the Great War of Liberation in 1971. There is a case against him at the International Criminal Tribunal, Bangladesh of 2021.

Later, during the investigation of the case, the tribunal issued an arrest warrant against him. Since then he left his area and went fugutive in the area under Kotwali police station of Jessore district. In view of this, he was arrested yesterday by a raiding team of RAB-3.

The press release also informed that legal action has been taken against the arrested accused.
