The mobile court of RAB has sentenced 58 members of broker gang to various terms for harassing patients and sending them to various expensive private hospitals on commission.
A team of RAB-3 conducted the operation around 11 am on Monday (March 4). At the same time RAB Executive Magistrate Mazharul Islam conducted the mobile court.
Later, the commander of RAB-3, Lt. Col. Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed said, "66 people were arrested on suspicion of being members of the broker gang from various places in the hospital, including the Dhaka Medical Department, the emergency department, the new building and the administrative block of Bagan Gate. After initial interrogation, 8 people were released.
According to RAB, plainclothes RAB members monitored the gang and identified it based on the complaints made by the victims.
RAB said that there are 100-150 members of the broker circle in Dhaka Medical. This campaign will continue to stop the violence of these gangs.
