Indian policeman held by BGB in Jhenaidah

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) apprehended an Indian policeman identified as PV John Silver Raj at the Maheshpur border in Jhenaidah. During the detention, authorities seized from him a mobile phone along with $1150 and 4,087 Indian rupees.

John Silver Raj, hailing from Angunagar village in the Ikudu police station of the Tricity district in Tamil Nadu state, serves in the Tamil Nadu Police. He was taken into custody on Friday afternoon at the Matila border of the upazila.

Captain HM Salah Uddin Chowdhury of the 58-BGB confirmed this development to the media. According to reports, during interrogation, PV John Silver Raj revealed that he had entered Bangladesh with the intention of traveling to Thailand, Salah Uddin informed.
