Russia plotting to expand number of targets, Britain claims

Britain claimed on Sunday that following losses and failures on the battlefield, Russia reportedly intensified assaults on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure over the last week and is poised to extend its target range further.

Ukrainians returning to the northeastern territory recaptured earlier this month by Kyiv‍‍`s swift onslaught were grieving for their dead as Russian artillery and warplanes continued to bombard and pulverise places in Ukraine‍‍`s east.

On Sunday, regional governors said that Russian assaults in the eastern Donetsk area resulted in the deaths of five people, while in Nikopol, farther to the west, dozens of residential structures, gas pipelines, and electricity lines were destroyed.

Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure, including a power system and a dam,  accelerated over the last week, according to the British Ministry of Defense.

As a result of failures and disappointments on the front lines, Russia has presumably expanded the number of targets it is willing to attack in an effort to directly damage the morale of the Ukrainian people and administration, according to a new intelligence report.

Last week, Ukrainian authorities reported discovering 440 corpses in the woods near Izium. According to them, most of those killed were civilians, and the reasons for death have not been determined.

The Kremlin hasn‍‍`t responded to the findings of the burials or graves, although Moscow has denied assaulting civilians and committing war crimes.
