Russia deploys nuclear weapons on NATO border

Russia‍‍`s ambassador to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov, said that Russia is deploying nuclear weapons right under the nose of NATO on the border of Belarus. It is known that Belarus, a close ally of Russia and a bordering country of NATO, is fully prepared for this work.

He said this in an interview given to the country‍‍`s state television on Sunday (April, 2).

These two neighbors are officially part of a ‍‍`state of the union‍‍` and have been in talks for years to become closer, Reuters reports.

The process was accelerated last year after Russia was allowed to use Belarusian territory to send troops into Ukraine.

Boris Gryzlov, Russia‍‍`s ambassador to Belarus, told Belarusian state television, "Russia‍‍`s nuclear weapons will be moved to the western border of our Union State and they will ensure the security of the region."

He also said that this will be done despite objections from Europe and the United States. According to Russian President, Vladimir Putin‍‍`s orders, the weapons storage facility will be completed by July 1, after which these nuclear weapons will be transferred to the western border of Belarus.

The United States and other allies of Kiev have said they are concerned about the possibility of Russia sending strategic nuclear weapons to Belarus. Even US President Joe Biden is worried about it.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus would allow Russia to deploy nuclear missiles if needed.
