Stating that a vested quarter is trying to make the development spree by the government questionable, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that such an effort cannot take her away from the people.

She was giving the closing remarks of the second session under the 12th parliament at the House in Dhaka on Thursday night.

A four-time premier, Sheikh Hasina said that her party works for the welfare of the people.

“The people are benefitting from the work we did. Please, do admit that,” she said hinting at the critics of the government.

“But what can be done through the efforts to make questionable everything we do? You can’t take me away from the countrymen,” she said.

Terming the people as her strength, PM Hasina said that she advances with the support of the people.

“The people have the trust that I work for them. The trust is my only asset,” she said, vowing to continue her contribution to the country.
