Quader says, no discussion on Caretaker Government or resignation of Sheikh Hasina

After holding a meeting with US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas and ruling Awami League leaders, the party General Secretary Obaidul Quader said no discussion on forming polls-time Caretaker Government was made. 

Also no discussions on resignation of incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, dissolving Election Commission, or holding a dialogue among political parties aiming national election were made. Rather discussion held on holding free, fair and peaceful election, said Quader also Road Transport and Bridges minister to the journalists in a briefing after the meeting with US ambassador.

At the end of the meeting, the US ambassador said that his country wants fair and impartial elections in Bangladesh, and for this, everyone, including the political parties and the Election Commission, must work sincerely.

Peter Haas went to meet at the central office of Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue on Thursday (August 3) around 11 am accompanied by an embassy official.

Awami League presidium member Farooq Khan, international secretary Shammi Ahmed, information and research secretary Salim Mahmud, office secretary Biplab Barua, executive member Mohammad Ali Arafat and others participated in the meeting.
