"Presence of uranium in Bay of Bengal"

There is possibility of discovering uranium in the Bay of Bengal. Fresh reseachers need to study how to make use of this valuable mineral.  

Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, said this while addressing a seminar as the chief guest on Wednesday (December 29).

Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury said at the seminar on "Power, Energy and Deep Learning Applications for 4IR in Bangladesh"

"We need to focus on sustainable development and strengthening the blue economy", he said at the seminar.

He further said, “Bangladesh was a wasteland when Bangabandhu took charge. From there he started building the country. In 1974 he enacted the Maritime Act. PM Sheikh Hasina has inherited Bangabandhu's foresight to develop the country. 

He added: "Mack Zuckerberg, Bill Gates didn't start with money. They started working on an idea. If there is an idea, there is no shortage of money.”

Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury thanked the Awami League sub-committee on science and technology for organizing the knowledge-based and research seminar.
