Rain, thundershowers likely in parts of country

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely in different parts of the country commencing at 9am on Thursday.

"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions," according to a Met Office release.

Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, said a weather forecast for next 24 hours commencing from at 9am.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 37.0 degree Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was recorded by 22.0 degree Celsius at Rajarhat. Country's maximum rainfall was recorded by 34 millimetres (mm) at Dimla.

Thursday's sunset at Dhaka at 06.20pm and Friday's sunrise at 05.38am.
