The fire at Madina Sweets Warehouse in Lalbagh of Old Dhaka is brought under control by fire service workers, Fire Service and Civil Defense Media Branch Officer Md Shahjahan Sikder confirmed that there were no casualties.
The fire service brought the fire under control at around 3:25 pm on Monday.
Shahjahan Sikder said, "We received information about the fire around 1:35 pm on Monday. The fire control work started from 1:45 pm. Eight units of fire service worked to control the fire. The fire was brought under control at 3:25 pm.”
He said that the building named DOS Industrial Company Metallizing is located in Atashkhana Lane of Lalbagh. The building was used as factory godown and residential. People were able to get down after the fire.
A fire service official who was on the scene to control the fire said, “The fire did not spread that much. However, while bringing the fire under control, we faced water shortage. We were able to bring the fire under control after about an hour and a half of effort."
