The Indian movie "Faraaz," which was directed by Hansal Mehta, was forbidden from being advertised and shown in Bangladeshi theaters and online on Monday by the High Court.
This order was given by the High Court bench of Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir following the hearing of a writ petition.
Advocate Ahsanul Karim attended the court session on behalf of the petition.
A writ was filed with the High Court on Sunday asking for an order prohibiting the release of "Faraaz" in Bangladesh.
The writ was brought by Ruba Ahmed, the mother of Abinta Kabir, who was slain on July 1, 2016, in the Holey Artisan Attack by terrorists.
The defendant in the writ petition is the secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
