Gazette published declaring 6 seats of BNP lawmakers vacant

The Parliament Secretariat on Sunday night published a gazette notification declaring the seats of six lawmakers of BNP vacant.

The six lawmakers are Md Zahidur Rahman MP from Thakurgaon-3 constituency, Md Mosharof Hosen MP from Bogura-4, Gulam Mohammad Siraj MP from Bogura-7, Md Aminul Islam MP from Chapainawabganj-2, Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan from Brahmanbaria-2 and Rumeen Farhana MP for reserved seat for women.

Two other lawmakers Md Harunur Rashid MP for Chapainawabganj-3 is currently abroad while Brahmanbaria-2 MP Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan could not appear in the parliament due to his illness.

Earlier yesterday morning, five of the seven BNP MPs submitted their resignations to Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury as part of their anti-government movement with a 10-point demand that includes dissolution of parliament.

They went to the parliament around 11am and handed in their resignation letters in person.

But, Brahmanbaria-2 MP Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan could not appear physically due to his illness.
