Covid infection increased by 60% in a week

Coronavirus infection has increased by 60 percent in last week, Dr. Robed Amin a spokesperson of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

He was briefing to the reporters at the DGHS on Sunday.

The rate of infection started rising on 20 December. The infection rate crossed 2 percent from 27 December. Before that, the rate was bellow two or one sometimes, Robed Amin said.

He said, most of the people died of Covid-19 aged over 50 years. However, the fatality rate in 41-50 years is 11 percent.

Urging all to war mask and maintain safety guidelines he said, “The omicron-infected people become sick fewer than the previous variants. But, we have to be cautious. Saving own, is saving all.”
