Actress Mahiya Mahi has been sent to jail by the court after she was arrested in a case filed by the police under the Digital Security Act.
On Saturday (March 18) afternoon, the police presented Mahiya Mahi to the Gazipur court and applied for a seven-day remand. Justice Md. Iqbal Hossain ordered to send her to jail without granting the remand.
She was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday around 11:45 am. According to Gazipur Metropolitan Police-GMP, she has been arrested in two cases including Digital Security Act.
Mahiya Mahi went to Saudi Arabia for Umrah with her husband. From there, she expressed her fear of being arrested after returning home on Facebook Live at around 12:30 am on Friday. Within 24 hours of this perception, the actress got arrested.
Mahiya Mahi said on Facebook Live on Friday that her husband has a car showroom called 'Soniraj Car Palace' on the east side of Badre Alam Government College in Bhawal, Gazipur. Thugs attacked there. They broke the gate of the showroom and entered and vandalized the furniture, doors and windows, tables and chairs. The office was looted.
Mahi accused Ismail aka Laden and Mamun Sarkar, had taken over their showroom. At that time, Mahi blamed Gazipur Metropolitan Police of taking 'bribe' on Facebook live.
