7 killed in bus-auto rickshaw collision in Mymensingh

At least seven people, died including an autorickshaw driver, in a head-on collision between a speeding bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Alalpur area of Mymensingh Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon, said the police.

The identities of the victims could not be known immediately, said Md Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (investigation), Kotwali Model Police Station.

According to him, seven people died instantly when the bus collided with an autorickshaw traveling in the opposite direction on the Mymensingh-Sherpur regional route in the Alalpur district at around 12:00 pm.

All the victims except the driver were passengers in the autorickshaw, he said.

Details about the fatal accident would be shared later, the police officer added.
