BCS Candidates Call For Rescheduling The Up-Coming Exam

A segment of the 41st BCS candidates asked for the rescheduling of the upcoming preliminary exam which is to be held on 19th March due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country.

They voiced their demand on Sunday at a press conference in Dhaka University Journalists’ Association.

A statement read by Mehedi Hasan, a 2011-12 session student of Marketing Department of DU stated that “It is expected that around 5 lack candidates will participate in 41th BCS preliminary test. On the day of exam about 6-7 lakh people -- candidates, their guardians, transport workers and staff of exam halls, security forces-- will gather, in such situation maintaining the health protocol is not possible. That’s why guardians and candidates are anxious about having seat in the exam. Without ensuring the vaccine for all, such kind of gathering can cause to a mass transmission of covid-19 virus.”

Seeking the intervention of the state, he further added, “I want the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Chairman of PSC in rescheduling the date of 41th BCS Preliminary Exam.”
