West Indies win toss, bowl against Scotland at T20 World Cup

West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to bowl against Scotland in their opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup in Hobart.

To proceed to the World Cup Super 12, the two-time champions who are without notable players like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo must survive round one.

With this new moisture pitch fast bowlers may have advantage, both captains felt that bowling first was beneficial at the venue. Although there is a layer of grass on the surface, batters are expected to dominate.

West Indies Squad: Kyle Mayers, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran (wk, capt), Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Odean Smith, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy.
