According to authorities, a young man is accused of raping a six-year-old girl in Rajshahi's Durgapur upazila.
On Sunday, police arrested 22-year-old Nadim Hossain.
According to Nazmul Hoque, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Durgapur police station, Nadim raped the young girl after finding her home alone on Sunday around noon. Nadim used to work in the rape victim's family's cropland.
Neighbors responded quickly to the girl's scream and caught Nadim.
He continued, "The girl was admitted to the Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital's One Stop Crisis (OCC) Center.
According to the OC, police detained the young person after receiving a complaint at the police station.
