Sylhet District Transport workers have called for an indefinite strike, which is starting from Monday, demanding the release of Ali Akbor Rajon, Chhatra Dal leader.
Rajon, the joint secretary of Sylhet Bus-Minibus Workers' Union was arrested in a sabotage case.
Mainul Islam, president of Bus-Minibus Workers' Union, announced about the strike. The strike will extend throughout the division from Tuesday, he added.
All types of buses, minibuses, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, legunas, and trucks will remain suspended, said the transport leader.
