Bogura-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency independent candidate Md Ashraful Hossain Alam alias Hero Alam was defeated by 951 votes.
Winning candidate Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Rezaul Karim Tansen got 20437 votes contesting with torch symbol in the result of 112 centers of this constituency. His nearest rival Hero Alam got 19486 votes on Ektara symbol.
This result was known from the by-election results receiving and serving center in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner of Bogura at around 7:30 pm on Wednesday.
Earlier, Alam cast his vote at around 9:30am at Erulia High School in Bogura Sadar Upazila.
He was also contesting the Bogura-6 by-polls, where he also could not win over other heavy-weight candidates.
After casting his vote, Alam told reporters, "If the election is fair, I am 100% confident regarding my win."
