Chakaria, Cox's Bazar, a local Awami League leader was discovered dead in his own home on Friday.
Jahangir Alam Bulbul has been identified as the deceased. He served as the Senior Organizational Vice President of the Matamuhuri Upazila Awami League and the previous Vice Chairman of Chakaria Upazila.
Chakaria Police Station's officer-in-charge Chandan Kumar Chakraborty said, Bulbul hasn't been seen in a few days. He found it suspicious and went to his residence, discovered that the door was locked from the inside. The OC said, "Later, the police broke the door and found his body lying in his bathroom."
The body has been handed over to his relatives, he added.
