A meat vendor was stabbed to death  allegedly by his cousin, who is also a meet seller, in a broad daylight attack over price issue in Rajshahi‍‍`s Bagha upazila‍‍ on Saturday morning.

The victim is Mamun Hossain, 30, son of Rahim Uddin of Piadapara village in the Arani municipality.

Locals told that Mamun was charging Tk 650 per kilogram (KG) for beef at Arani Bazar while his cousin Khokon, sitting next to him, was selling beef for Tk 700.

Mamun was fatally stabbed by Khokon during a heated argument between the two regarding the price difference around 10am, police said quoting witnesses.

Mamun was severely injured and died on his way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Khokon‍‍`s shop employee Abdus Salam mentioned that Khokon and Mamun were business partners. They split apart their business only a few days ago.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bagha Police Station, Aminul Islam, reported that Khokon left the site after the altercation. There would be legal action in this regard, he assured.
