BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal has been released on bail after serving more than three and a half months in prison.
Kashimpur Jail Superintendent Amirul Islam confirmed this information to the media.
After his release, party leaders welcomed him with flowers in front of the prison.
In the remand hearing, Moazzem told the court that he was suffering from kidney disease. Later, the court sentenced Moazzem to three years imprisonment in an old case on December 31 last year.
Meanwhile, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were released from prison on February 15. And on February 19, BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas was released from prison on bail.
