US tornado death toll rises to 22

The death toll from powerful tornadoes and storms in the South and Midwest of The US has risen to 22. This information is known from the report of American broadcaster, NBC News.

Seven of the dead were from the southwestern state of Tennessee. The state‍‍`s emergency management agency confirmed the information. Most of the victims are from McNairy County.

On Saturday, (March, 1) the National Weather Service in Nashville, Tennessee, said multiple tornadoes touched down in middle Tennessee counties overnight, including Wayne, Lewis, Marshall, Rutherford, Cannon, and Macon counties. A survey will be conducted soon to determine the extent of possible damage.

Outside of Tennessee, at least five people have been killed by tornadoes in Arkansas. The five deaths were reported in Cross and Polaski counties in the state. Four others were killed in Bonney and Crawford counties in Illinois, three in Sullivan County, Indiana, one in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, one in Madison County, Alabama, and one in Tipton County, Tennessee.

Four people died in the city of Wayne in northeastern Cross County, Arkansas. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a tweet that the storm caused extensive damage to the city.

Sanders said Friday‍‍`s storm also caused significant damage in central Arkansas. Meteorologists say a tornado has touched down in North Little Rock. At least three people were killed and were dozens injured in the building collapse.
