The overall number of Covid cases is now about to hit the 539 million mark as infections in parts of the world rise, reports UNB.
According to the latest global data, the total case count mounted to 538,715,936 and the body count to 6,328,141 on Friday morning.
The US has recorded 87,114,740 cases so far and 1,035,320 people have died from the virus in the country, the data shows.
India's Covid-19 tally rose to 43,207,265 on Thursday, as 9,743 new cases were registered in 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's data.
Besides, eight deaths from the pandemic registered across the country since Tuesday morning took the total death toll to 524,723.
