The Election Commission (EC) declined to grant permission for the Awami League (AL) to stage a rally, hence the ruling party has decided to have a discussion on December 10.
On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, the Dhaka City South unit of Awami League had declared that day`s gathering would take place near the south entrance of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
"The EC did not give permission to hold the rally," said the AL unit office secretary Riaz Uddin.
A discussion will be be held instead, at the Awami League’s Dhaka District unit office in Tejgaon, he added.
