Housing society orientation held aimed to build resilient cities

An inception and orientation meeting with housing societies was held at Agrani Kallyan Samiti, at Mirpur 12 in Dhaka to the quest of building urban resilience in Dhaka and Chattagram.

The meeting was held by the joint endeavor of Urban Resilience Project: RAJUK Part (S-9), Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP) and Save the Children in Bangladesh.

To ensure the enforcement of the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) 2020 and other rules and regulations as per the Building Construction Act of 1952, under the PROYASH II project, Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP), and Save the Children in Bangladesh, working closely with various stakeholders like housing societies, slum development committees, community development communities, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), RAJUK and so on.

On the program titled, Inception and Orientation Meeting with Housing Societies at DNCC ward 2, Sheikh Khabir Uddin, President, Agrani Kollyan Samiti, Md Shahid Alam, Representative of the International Code Council (Ex-Chairman, RAJUK) and members from Agrani Kollyan Samiti and Agrani Ladies Forum were present along with the representatives of Smart Development Engineering Ltd. and the Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP).

The program aimed to orient the housing societies with the green, clean and safe approach of building urban resilience among house owners, tenants, and other related stakeholders.

As a part of the process, Md Yeakub Hossain, Project Coordinator, SEEP, discussed the Project activities of PROYASH II and the intervention plan with the Housing Societies and the Urban Resilience Project (URP) team of RAJUK.
