Recording testimony in Sinha killing case begins

The court on started recording testimonies of witnesses in retired army major Sinha Md. Rashed killing case.

Plaintiff and prime witness of the case Sinha’s elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous gave her testimony on Monday (August 23).

The accused including 9 police officials were taken to Cox’s Bazar district and session judge court in the morning.

The accused are suspended police official Prodip Kumar Das, inspector Liakat Ali, Constable Rubel Sharma, SI Nandadulal Raxit, Constable Safanul Karim, Kamal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun, ASI Liton Mia and Constabel Sagar Debnath.

Court sources said, among the detainees 12 gave confessional statement. However, Prodip and Rubel are yet to admit their parts in the reported murder of former military official.

Retired major Sinha Md Rashed Khan was shot dead while the on duty police checked him at a check post on July 31, 2020.
