CID handed over the body of Bristhi Khatun alias Ovisruti, to her family after a period of ten days. The handover took place at approximately 3 pm on Monday, March 11.

Ovisruti‍‍`s identity was confirmed through DNA testing before the handover. Jahangir Hossain Matubbar, Additional Deputy Inspector General of the CID‍‍`s Forensic Department, confirmed this development to the media.

Matubbar explained that following the fire incident on Bailey Road on February 29, conflicting claims arose regarding Ovisruti‍‍`s identity. However, DNA samples collected from her body and her parents were matched, establishing her identity as Bristhi Khatun. Consequently, her body was handed over to her father, Sabuj Sheikh.

Expressing his relief, Sabuj Sheikh stated that he would transport his daughter‍‍`s body to Bangram, Khoksa police station in Kushtia district, for burial in the family cemetery.

The confusion surrounding Ovisruti‍‍`s identity arose as her friends and colleagues claimed the body as Ovisruti, while a priest of Ramna Kali Mandir (Temple) claimed her as Sanatan Dharmalambi.

During these conflicting claims, the police conducted a DNA test, which ultimately confirmed Ovisruti‍‍`s identity as Bristhi Khatun. Her family resides in Bangram village of Betbaria union in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia, where her official documents bear her name as Brishti Khatun.
