Bangladesh reports a day without Covid-19 deaths after 20 months

Zero deaths were reported from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. For the first time in 20 months, the country witnessed a day without a single Covid-19 related death. 

This information was revealed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its routine statement on Saturday (November 20) afternoon. 

Meanwhile, the daily Covid-19 update of the health department also revealed that 178 more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours. 

With the latest development, the overall caseload rose to 1,573,889. The capital Dhaka reported 142 infections, the highest among all divisions.

This information was recorded between Friday 8:00 am till Saturday 8:00 am. 

On the flip side, another 190 people recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,538,006 during the same period. 

Across the world, over 256.78 million people have been infected by the virus and 5.14 million have died, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
