Major Sinha killing case: Recording testimonies resumes

Recording testimonies in retired Major Sinha Md. Rashed Khan killing case for second day. 

Defence lawyers asked queries to the plaintiff and main witness of the case Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous at Cox’s Bazar district and session judge court on Tuesday (August 24). 

Earlier on Monday, the prosecution asked Sharmin Shahriar. Court adjorned the proceedings around 4:15 pm. 

On June 27, judge Mohammed Ismail framed the charge. The accused were present in the court. The Cox’s Bazar court also fixed July 26, 27 and 28 to record testimonies of 10 eyewitnesses including the plaintiff. 

Court sources said, among the 83 witnesses, testimonies of 15 will give their statements this phase. All 15 accused are in the district custody. 

Retired Major Sinha was shot dead while he was checked at a police check post on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf marine drive on July 31, 2020.
