License to be revoked if shops opened defying law: Mayor Atiqul

Legal actions, including cancelation of license, will be taken if shops are open defying government’s directives.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam said this while visiting Bijoy Sarani area in the capital on Monday (July 5).

“The DNCC authorities have working relentlessly for public safety and welfare to fight the pandemic situation. Owners of shopping malls and shops must abide by the directives and necessary laws and provisions,” the mayor said.

“Modern biometric system will be launched instead of obsolete attendance system for cleaners. No worker can give attendance without physical presence at office. This initiative has been taken to ensure due responsibilities,” Atiqul furthered.
