Lata Mangeshkar was one of those Indian singers who stepped forward to aid Bangladesh during the liberation war in 1971. Coupled with various singers, Lata performed in various places of India to collect fund in aid of the war-torn Bangladeshi people.
In a tweet on 14 September 2019 Lata reminisced the memory in 1971. She came Bangladesh with actor Suneel Dutt’s Ajanata orchestra.
Besides, she also visited Bangladesh after the country achieved independence and performed at various shows.
She sang the one-off playback song for Bangladeshi movies. In 1972, she sang ‘O dada bhai’ song for the movie ‘Roktakto Bangla’ composed by noted Bangladeshi music director Salil Chowdhury.
The song hit the box-office and became very popular very soon.
