Dengue cases have spread across 50 districts said Health Minister Zahid Maleque as he warned regarding the degrading situation of dengue in the country.
He was addressing a program as the chief guest at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The minister, however, claimed that there is no shortage of beds or medical services in the hospitals to deal with the situation.
Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till Wednesday morning registered four deaths from dengue. Over the same period, 1,094 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country.
A total of 152 people died from dengue since January 1, with the first death reported on June 21.
With the new cases, the total number of dengue patients this year rose to 40,101 while some 36,199 patients were released from the hospitals.
