The high court has asked to take necessary steps within 30 days to stop indecent activities in the name of Rag Day in educational institutions.
Education secretary, culture secretary, information secretary and the chairman of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) have been asked to carry out the decision.
A high court bench comprised of justice Md. Mojibur Rahman and justice Khijir Hayat passed the order and issued a rule conducting the initial hearing on a writ petition.
Supreme Court lawyer Mohammed Kamrul Hasan filed the writ petition on 7 April. He appeared in the hearing on behalf of the writ while deputy attorney general Bipul Bagmar was present for the state.
