Govt aims to vaccinate 10m people today

Government has targeted to inoculate the first dose of coronavirus vaccine to 10 million people on Saturday.

No registration or papers is required to receive the vaccine. People who don’t have birth certificate or national identity card, can receive the vaccine.

The jab has been kicked off at 28 thousand vaccination booths across the country. As many as 142,000 health workers including volunteers are working at these booths. Apart from the stipulated vaccine centres five mobile teams are in operation at each union of the country. Besides, 30-50 additional booths have been installed for every area under the city corporations.

The country kicked off mass immunisation programme on 7 February last year. More than 100 million people received the first dose till Thursday while above 80 million people received the second dose.
