Fire snatches Ovisruti’s dream as she wanted to travel around the world

Ovisruti Shastri, former Reporter of TheReport.live

"Ovisruti had a strong will to live. She loved to travel. She wanted to visit many places in the world. But everything is destroyed just in blink of an eye", said Ovisruti‍‍`s former colleague Jinnat Ara Jasoa.

Ovisruti Shastri was a Reporter till January 2024 of TheReport.Live, a multimedia news portal of the country.

She lost her life prematurely in the Bailey Road fire incident last night.

Colleagues of TheReport.live identified her body at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue on Friday morning. Colleagues expressed deep grievances  over this incident. Her body has been kept in the freezer of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Earlier her finger print was stored in DMCH.

Ovisruti‍‍`s home town is in Kushtia. She recently passed her graduation from Eden Women‍‍`s College. She lived in a mess opposite to the CID office in Mouchak, Dhaka. Along with her studies, she was engaged in the profession of journalism for a long time. She showed enthusiasm and courage at work. She could easily mix with everyone. She dreamed of going a long way in her life but who knew a brilliant life will shed away just in minutes!

Ovisruti‍‍`s former colleague Joshua said that Ovisruti loved to write. Besides this, traveling was her hobby. Probably she went to Bailey Road to have some good time. But, who knew the time would be so terrible!

Golam Rabbani, Chief Reporter of TheReport.live, said, "Ovisruti had a keen interest in politics. She wanted to join politics in the future."

Owing to illness, Ovisruti discontinued her job a month ago. The Chief Reporter of TheReport.live found Tushar Hawladar, another former colleague of the organization missing after yesterday‍‍`s fire incident. Then, he came to know that Ovisruti was with Tushar. Colleagues identified Ovisruti‍‍`s body. Her family was later informed.
