Covid-19 fatalities fall below 100 after two months

Daily deaths from Covid-19 have fallen below 100 after two straight months. On Saturday (August 28), in a 24-hour count Bangladesh reported 80 deaths from coronavirus, and symptoms like the virus.

With 77 deaths from Covid-19 in a single day, deaths in a daily count below this figure was reported on June 26, approximately two months ago.

According to Saturday’s Covid-19 bulletin, the latest figures have taken the cluster of coronavirus deaths to 25,926,

On Saturday, health authorities reported 3,436 new cases in a 24-hour count.

With the latest development, the tally of covid infections in the country has reached 1,489,589,

Even though deaths have declined across the country, the covid-19 positivity rate was increased against the samples tested in labs.

The daily positivity rate stands at 13.67 percent.

On Friday (August 27), the positivity rate was 12.78 percent.

On the flipside, during the same period, 4,861 Covid-19 patients also recovered across the country, according to the report by health authorities.

The tally of recoveries has reached 1,409,231, since the emergence of the pandemic in the country in March last year.

The figures were recorded between Friday 8:00 am and Saturday 8:00 am.

The latest Covid-19 situation in the country was revealed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its routine daily statement on Saturday evening.
