Body found out from the car lying on the bank of Padma River

A luxury car was lying on the bank of Padma river for two days. This morning, the car started to smell bad. On receiving the information, the police went and recovered the body of a young man wrapped in a sack inside. The body was recovered from Sadipur Kheyaghat area of Charsadipur Union of Kushtia Kumarkhali Upazila on Saturday morning.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kumarkhali police station, Mohsin Hossain said that the name of the deceased youth is Samrat (26). He is the son of Abu Bakkar Siddique of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna. The police of Ishwardi police station arrested a woman regarding this incident.

A local shopkeeper said that the car was lying in Kheyaghat area since last Wednesday. At first they thought that someone left the car and crossed the Padma to work. At around 8:30 am today, they informed the police when foul smell was coming from inside the car.

Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mohsin Hossain said that a police officer also saw the car last Thursday afternoon. But he leaves thinking that someone has come to visit. Police went there after getting the news today. He went and recovered the body from inside. The vehicle was used by a Russian official of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project.
