Bangladesh receives 15 lakh Covid vaccines from Saudi

Bangladesh has received 15 lakh doses of coronavirus vaccine from Saudi Arabia.

The shots were handed over at the state guest house the Padma around 10am Tuesday (November 16).

Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen, health and family planning minister Zahid Maleque and officials of the Saudi embassy in Dhaka were present in the occasion.

Earlier on November 9, the foreign minister said that Saudi Arabia will provide as many as 14 lakh 99 thousand 270 doses of AstraZeneca Covid vaccine from the King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz relief fund.

During the occasion, Momen said, “We received a batch of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine. Poland will also give Bangladesh 33 lakh doses under European Union (EU) fund.”
