In a 24-hour count till Thursday morning, health authorities in Bangladesh reported 10,888 new cases. With the latest development, the tally of covid-19 cases in the country has reached 1,653,182.
According to health authorities, this is the highest single day tally reported in 23 weeks.
Overnight, four more fatalities were reported from Covid-19, according to government data.
With this, the total fatality stands at 28,180.
After tesing 41,292 samples across the country in the last 24-hours, the daily positivity rate climed to 26.37 percent.
Among the eight divisions, the capital Dhaka recorded 7,843 cases - the highest number of cases.
Another 577 people recovered from the infectious disease nationwide, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,554,845.
The figures were recorded between Wednesday 8:00 am and Thursday 8:00 am.
The latest Covid-19 situation in the country was revealed by the Directorate General of Health Services in its routine daily statement.
