Another Rohingya leader killed in Cox's Bazar camp

In yet another chilling murder, a leader of the Rohingya community was shot dead by unknown assailants in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.

The deceased is Mohammad Selim, 35, son of Abdus Sobhan, a sub-majhi (deputy head)of Balukhali camp.

This came some 12 hours after Rashid Ahmed, head majhi of a different camp, was stabbed to death.

Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station, said a group of miscreants called Selim out of the camp in the early hours on Sunday and opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
