The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained two owners of Chai Chumuk Restaurant and the manager of Kacchi Bhai Restaurant in connection with last night`s deadly fire at the seven-storey building on Bailey Road in Dhaka.
The detainees are Anwarul Haque and Shafiqur Rahman Rimon, owners of "Chai Chumuk", and Md Jisan, manager of another restaurant named "Kachchi Bhai".
The police have claimed that they have been detained for questioning to find out the cause of the fire
Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Kh Mahid Uddin said this in a press conference at DMP`s media center on Friday evening.
According to Mahid, the fire originated on the ground floor of the building from Chai Chumuk. The police will file a case for negligently causing death, he said.
Anyone from the victims` families can also file a case if they wish, he added.
