Starting on Saturday, the metro rail (MRT Line-6) will run six days a week, till 8:30 pm, from Uttara to Motijheel.

At a press conference in the capital on Thursday afternoon, MAN Siddique, the managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), informed reporters about the new timing window.

According to him, the last metro rail will depart Motijheel at 8:40 p.m. and the first metro rail will depart Uttara Uttar Station at 7:10 a.m.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Agargaon-Motijheel section of MRT Line-6 on November 5 last year, almost a year after the first part (Uttara-Agargaon) of the line (Uttara-Agargaon) opened to the public on December 28, 2022.

The original length of the metro rail route was 20.1 km from Uttara to Motijheel, but it has now been extended by 1.16km to Kamalapur Railway Station.
