9 killed as wall collapses in India’s Lucknow

At least nine people, including three minors, were killed when the boundary wall of an army enclave collapsed on their hut in the northern Indian city of Lucknow amid heavy rains.

One person was pulled out alive from the debris, reports Indian media quoting rescuers.

"Some labourers were living in huts outside an army enclave in Dilkusha area. Owing to heavy overnight rains, the boundary wall of the enclave collapsed on Thursday," Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Piyush Mordia said.

Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh state, has been experiencing heavy rains for the last three days.
